Living almost 6 years in Netherlands i highly disagree. I have lived in different countries and cultures, i can proudly say that moving here is the best thing ever happened to me. Dutch people are amazing, and very welcoming. And if u think dutch people are racists and they don’t speak English please go live for a month in Germany.

The Dutch are somewhat divided, some of us, the left wing, really hate foreigners so much that we try to stop climate change because we want our country to stay too cold for them, but then you have those foreigner loving right wingers who want to continue changing the climate to make our country more hospitable to foreigners.
The mean left wing people will also refuse to help foreigners learn Dutch by speaking English to them, whilst the nice right wing people speak Dutch to the foreigners so they can learn.
The mean lefties also are the ones who want to reduce cars and promote walking and cycling, whilst the nice righties want to make our cities more car friendly by getting rid of those pesky cyclists and pedestrians.
Amsterdam is very left leaning, but most of the Netherlands is more right leaning, so maybe stay out of the leftist cities and instead visit a nice right wing village like Urk or Barneveld, you'll feel much more at home.

Dutch is closely related to English. It is easier for an English-speaking person to learn Dutch if compared to learn Indonesian, for example. Many Dutch words looks like English. Take words like: water, wind, winter, God, land, warm, is, was, over, etc. Take a sentence "Is 't warm in de winter?". If you want to be happy, why don't you come to Indonesia? My country had been colonized by The Netherlands for hundreds of years. It is very big…as big as The US. We here smile although we have no food. We are not rich like the Dutch, but we tend to treat foreigners in a good way. We are south-east Asians.

I know it's winter, but I would love to visit the Keukenhof, a world-famous tulip park in the future. I would also like to learn Dutch as it sounds like a mix of English and German to me.

Of course, Europe is suffering from inflation like everywhere else, but if you want to travel in Europe, you need to save up a lot of money and be smart with your spending, especially coming from Latin America. Trying to find a job without a work visa can be difficult, no matter where you go. If you try to work with just the travel permission you have to enter the country, it is illegal and can end badly.
What's more puzzling is why she even went there in the first place. She doesn't speak English, she doesn't want to learn Dutch, and she even despises the canals of Amsterdam.
